My steam punk mask is complete!

This mask has been painfully pleasuring to make. From research on steam punk (which I still know so little about) to getting all the little extras to stay on the mask, it's been fun but I'm so glad it's complete! The mask, sculpted out of the foam clay I generally use, is painted in real liquid copper. Yes, gold, silver and copper leafing comes in liquid form now. I highly recommend it for sculptures, but I also recommend wearing a good respirator while using it. I airbrushed the area around the eyes and topped them off with a copper wire that runs from one side to the other. There are two 'gold' butterflies on the right side, sewn into the mask with copper wire, as well as two delicate ladies' Victorian shoes on the same side. The middle is topped with a heart-shaped button and the other side sports a couple of other fun items. There are miscellaneous, real clock parts on the mask, from the fancy hands on the upper left to the cog in the right side.

I must say, my favourite, most ostentatious pieces are the feathers. On the right side are two turkey feathers, one of which is over 3 FEET long, and on the other side are two hard-to-find peahen feathers. I also experimented with a little bit of craft porcelain, creating a sort of 'conduit' on side of the mask to cover the bottom of the turkey feathers.

To add the final, steampunk touch, the mask is called 'Baroness Georgina Hawk's Teleportation Mask For Proper Ladies.' Such a great piece to add to a steam punk-themed home!
